Presentation
Presentation
Since 1464, the vineyard of Château Bourdieu has flourished on the lands of the right bank of the Gironde. Each cuvée is crafted with the same care and passion. In each wine from Château Bourdieu, one can find the richness of the terroirs and the quality of the great wines of Bordeaux.
Terroir
Clayey, chalky, gravelly.
In the vineyard
Double Guyot pruning. Important prophylactic work. Selective debudding with gaps for a better distribution of the harvest. Regular soil maintenance, manual leaf removal allowing excellent aeration in the fruit-bearing zone, thinning for a compact-free yield. Harvesting at advanced phenolic ripeness to obtain the smoothest possible tannins and optimal sorting (grape by grape selection).
Winemaking
Selective harvesting. Long maceration, around 4 weeks, in temperature-controlled vats. Extraction by punching down. Emphasis on phenolic richness and terroir complexity.
Ageing
Increased quality controls throughout the breeding process. Few racking and wine handling before bottling. The goal is to preserve this wine with all its aromatic complexity.
