Château Du Basque 2020

Château du Basque, under the same ownership as Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Château La Fleur Morange, is situated near the village of Saint Pey d’Armens. The owners, Mr and Mrs Julien Lafaye, have improved tremendously the quality of the Château and the vineyards appear immaculate and are carefully managed with some leaf trimming and green harvesting during the summer months. A wine to be tried.

Advice

Serving
Serve at room temperature.
At nose
A very open and expressive nose here, exotic and rich with a spiced plumy fruit.
On the palate
It has a very attractive palate also, soft at the entry and then showing more structure towards the end. Good acidity, overall this has an appealing composition.
Food pairings
This is a perfect partner for red meat, although it makes a good match for roast poultry. But it is also great on its own.
